Golden Globes Best Dressed Edition

Hey there! So it's definitley been a bit since I've posted. I have had so much going on you wouldn't even believe. I could use a minute to breathe, but that just isn't going to happen anytime soon. I know I promised a holiday recap, and I promise I will do that soon, even if it is a month over due. I also have an announcement to make! Anywho...onto the post.

As everyone knows, the Golden Globes were this past Sunday. Normally, I'm all about awards season and can't wait to see all the red carpet fashions and watch in anticipation of who's going to win what. Unfortunately, this year I just wasn't into it. I mean, the Golden Globes bored me to death last year, so this year I skipped it. I was feeling a bit under the weather as well, but I definitely did not dismiss the red carpet fashions this year. Here are my top 5 Best Dressed accoring to me :-D

Julie Bowen in Reem Acra - sweet and feminine

Emma Stone in Lanvin

Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang - You know I LOVE navy!

Jessica Alba in Gucci

And my #1 Red Carpet look is....

Charlize Theron in Dior Couture - The headband was a GREAT addition to her look

Well, that's all for now! I hope to make some time to do those promised posts. Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll have a little more time. Thanks for reading! Until next time!

2012 has arrived!

Hey there! Hi there! Ho there! I can't believe the first week of 2012 has come and gone. I've been meaning to post, but coming back from a holiday, it's so hard to get back in the groove of things, ya know? I've been really busy/exhausted with work, but fear not, I plan on doing a holiday recap post with lots of photos from Christmas/New Years. To sum up my New Years, since I know you're dying to know ;-) We left last Saturday for Harrah's Casino. Let me tell ya, we were the youngest people there! The average age was 70 and the attire was jeans, sweatshirts, and fanny packs. Needless to say, we were also the most overdressed people there. That's okay! My motto is "I'd rather be overdressed than underdressed". Didn't do any gambling, but we had a great meal at Paula Deen's kitchen. The whole experience was just "okay" meaning, I won't be back, but all in all, it was a great time being surrounded by some of my best friends.

As far as New Years resolutions go, I don't usually make them. I don't believe in it. I did think about it though and what I came up with is this:

  • Floss more
  • Take more vitamins
  • Get rid of clutter/Get organized
  • Being happy with myself/Be more confident(a constant struggle for me)
  • Find the man of my dreams haha (not 100% serious, but a boyfriend would be nice)
  • Find a new job/Start my career

And if you know me, then you know that my top priority every single day is finding a new job/career. I am dead set on becoming a Buyer, but getting there has been quite a slow process. So slow, that I've not even made a dent in the goals I've set for myself. I've been out of school for 2 years and I'm in my mid 20's. I feel it's time to buckle down and get started on my career. So hopefully 2012 is going to come with some new and great opportunities. I'm just going to trust that God will lead me to where I need to be.

Hope everyone had a great New Years and first week of 2012. I wish you all well with the new year!

Cheers!

It's New Years Eve!! Yay! What are you going to do to ring in the new year? My friends and I are headed to Cherokee, North Carolina to Harrah's Casino to ring in the New Year. We have reservations at Paula Dean's restaurant at 7 tonight. There's also gonna be live bands throught the casino, so that should be fun. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful night whether you're staying at home with loved ones or going to a party in your sparkliest dress! We're in the last few hours of 2011 so enjoy it while its here! Cheers!!

Looking Back...

Hello! I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I meant to do a post earlier in the week, but I got so busy with work, plus we were doing inventory. Another thing taking up a lot of my free time, which I didn't mind one bit, was getting a lot of requests for my help on fashion advice this week. I am always thrilled when someone asks for my help....therefore I think I've finally found my calling. I plan on doing a post of a holiday recap later, but I just wanted to take a look back at 2011 as we're in the final days and hours of this year. This year started out a little rocky and well, just not great. Although it was rough at first, it ended up being the best year of my life! It was also a year of concerts for me. I got to see Eric Church, Little Big Town, Taylor Swift, The Band Perry, Keith Urban, Justin Moore, Coldplay, The Black Keys, Young the Giant, Luke Bryan, and Lady Antebellum. If you know me, you know I love concerts...as you can tell :-)

Here's a look back at my year, 2011:

My sorority's chapter celebrated it's 55th anniversary! That's my family from left my grand-little, my little sis, me, and my big sis.

I got my very first kitten on my own as an adult since I moved out(besides my childhood cat who lives with my parents. My precious Penelope (Penny). She's the love of my life!

After years and years of begging, I FINALLY got my family to go to New Orleans for vacation. I'd been dying to go since middle school! (Those are my sisters)
In front of the first Real World New Orleans house. I'm a huge Real World fan, therefore, I had to find this house.
They were filming 21 Jump St. while we were there. I got a glimpse of Channing Tatum inside that restaurant and we got to watch a car chase scene! I was pretty excited!

I met my ALL TIME FAVORITE Real World cast member Ace from the Paris cast when I was in Atlanta over the summer. I have literally been in love with him since high school and he was the nicest guy EVER! So sweet...he even bought us tequila shots! :-)I would marry him.

I met The Band Perry at my hometown's 4th of July celebration. They were unbeleivably nice. They really adore their fans. They live in Greeneville, Tennessee, which is only 30 minutes from where I live.

I celebrated my quarter of a century birthday at the lake. I still can't believe I'm 25. My cake says Happy 25th birthday in French if anyone was wondering.

I got a chance to go to Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta where two of my favorite bands, The Black Keys and Coldplay were playing. I went with my friend Haley and we had a blast! Coldplay blew me away!

And of course my friends and I had to cheer on our Vols, also celebrating my dear friend's birthday.

And I had the best Halloween ever! I was beyond excited to finally get to dress up as Wonder Woman! I'd wanted to be her for forever!

Anyways, there's some of the highlights of my year. What were some of your favorite moments of 2011? What are you looking forward to in 2012?

Santa is Coming!!

image via pinterest

Happy Christmas Eve! I still can't believe today is already here! Do you remember the excitement you felt as a little kid? Putting the milk and cookies out for Santa, with a letter, and leaving some carrots for the reindeer? Trying to go to sleep but not being able to contain your excitement? Brings back warm and fuzzy memories of waking up early and tearing into those presents! I'm finally home at my parents (it's an hour away from where I live) and it still doesn't quite feel like Christmas. What are you doing on this Christmas Eve? Are you enjoying holiday parties/dinners with your family? Are you waiting for Santa? ;-) I'm spending my evening eating Christmas candy and watching Christmas movies (Home Alone to be exact). However you're spending your Christmas Eve, I hope it's warm and delightful!

My week

Hello there! So this week has definitely flown by, and has also been a little strange. I absolutely LOVE Christmas, but this year, I'm just not feeling the holiday cheer/Christmas spirit. I think the weather has something to do with it. It's been in the 50's and really rainy here. The past 2 Christmas's have been snowy and white, so I guess that had me spoiled. No matter how many times I watch the Christmas classics, put Taylor Swift's Christmas cd on repeat, light my cinnamon candles, or sip on some egg nog, I just can't seem get into that "holiday spirit". I have, however been doing some shopping and indulging! I've been far too generous to myself this Christmas that I really think retailers need to ban me from their stores. Here's what I've been up to this week!

I got an iphone!!

Indulgance #1 - Peppermint Bark! A holiday favorite.

Indulgance #2 - Krispy Kreme holiday doughnuts! How cute is the little snowman?? He's so cute I don't want to eat him! :-)

Bath and Body Works was having a sale! Everything I got was $3! Plus I got a discount with my empty bulbs! Side note: Going to the mall on my day off (Fridays) which is also 2 days before Christmas, was a HUGE mistake...made me hate my life!

I went to Old Navy and did a little indulging there. I had two $10 off rewards cards and I saw a commercial that sweaters were on sale for $15. I ended up with the two plaid camp shirts ($15 each-I plan on wearing the red one on Christmas), the leopard sweater and camel sweater (in love with that color) were $15 each as well. Also, I got two great pairs of wedge booties in black and olive on clearance for $13.99 each! And how cute is the navy cross body purse? A steal at $9.99 - not to mention my $20 off rewards, plus 10% off for using my Gap card. I'm all about some savings!

Trying to soak in some holiday spirit with my Christmas decorations

And of course, I couldn't leave you without sharing a photo of Penny! :-) She was hiding with the nutcrackers earlier in the week hehe.

Last Friday was my friend's Holiday party/gift exchange. I'll try and get pictures up of that soon. Have you all been brave enough to venture out and face the crowds during the crazy week before Christmas? Are you one of those people who wait til the last minute? I sure am! :-)Until next time!
